What you can expect

How I work and the general process

I am at your service! This is your day, which means I am as involved as you would like me to be. Often this will depend on your own style or values as a couple, how you choose to celebrate, or the type of ceremony you prefer. You can come to me with your ideas or desired order of service, readings etc., or I am more than happy to provide my resources and experience.

In terms of “the process”, you can expect something like this:

First Contact

We'll have an initial 30min catch up - this is a no obligation chat so you can get a feel for me and my style. I love hearing your story and your plans for your big day. This is a good chance to ask a few questions and to give me a sense of who you both are. I’m happy to meet at your place or out at a local cafe, whatever fits best with your week.

Initial Preparation

If you decide you would like me to help deliver magic on your special day, I'll send you a formal service agreement and an invoice for a deposit.  Payment of your deposit secures your date. If after an initial catch up, you don’t think I’m a good fit for you, that’s totally ok too.

The Formalities

Together we will craft a suitable timeline to ensure we achieve everything we need to and will work out the best methods of contact and how/when to check in. Remember, often your big day will be months into the future, so there may be quiet periods where you won’t need to hear from me. That being said, we don’t want the weeks to sneak up on you, and some key milestones will keep us on track! If we don't have months, no bother! My own wedding was planned on 10 days' notice - it's all part of the fun!

Meetings & Crafting YOUR Special Day

During this period, I’ll liaise with you on your vows and your actual ceremony. I’m happy if you want to write your own vows or I can provide you with some resources or inspiration. I'll write your ceremony and will send it to you for your feedback and input. We'll refine it until you feel it best reflects you.

We'll have at least one other meeting closer to your wedding date once you have decided the other major details for your big day (often at our first meeting, there are a number of unknowns!). Here, we can check everything flows well and everyone who needs to be “in the know” is actually “in the know”!

Rehearsal

I'll be at your rehearsal and can help guide you and your wedding party through the ceremony we have created together.  I’ll make sure that everyone knows where they are positioned, where to move and when. I’m happy to assist in anyway I can.

The Big Day

It’s time to “tie the knot”! On the day I’ll be there early to work with your core people and ensure everything runs smoothly. I’m happy to follow up finer details, be it reserved setting, or ensuring microphones are working and guests get to where they need to be. I will bring printed copies of your vows, or any other core readings or documents that may be needed on the day. I’m also the keeper of safety pins, sticky tape, pens, or emergency champagne to get you in the zone and calm the nerves!

Follow up

After your big day, I will take care of the “paperwork” and will confirm with you “newlyweds” once all legal formalities have been confirmed.

While this should give you a general idea of the process, each ceremony and every couple is different. We will organise a schedule and timeline together that reflects your needs. I am available to you via phone or email for questions and general enquiries that pop up from time to time along the way.
